(New York, NY)..............With the theme of "The Passion, The Pursuit and the Paradox of Ministry: A Clergy Conversation," the 10th Annual Safe Harbor Leadership Retreat will take place from September 7-10, 2014 at the Montgomery Marriott Prattville Hotel & Conference Center at Capitol Hill, located in Prattville, AL. Hosted for the past ten years by Bishop Donald Hilliard Jr., Senior Pastor of Cathedral International-The Historic Second Baptist Church in Perth Amboy, NJ and his wife, Pastor Phyllis Hilliard, Director of Cathedral Women's Ministry, the yearly conference provides a relaxed, supportive, educational atmosphere for the benefit of pastors and religious leaders from all over the country to recharge and regenerate among their peers, to renew and supercharge their strength, commitment and mettle toward shepherding their varied flocks. An alarming statistic shows that pastoring is among the top most stressful occupations, resulting in an increase in the number of pastoral suicides and other self-destructive behaviors. Bishop Hilliard addressed some of those issues in his 2013 book, "Midlife, Manhood and Ministry." He will speak to this retreat's gathering, to examine this rising, unfortunate circumstance, among other important issues.
The focused conference will feature an impressive gathering of world renowned preachers, teachers and trained professionals who specialize in assisting pastors and leaders in effectively navigating the waters of life and ministry. As leaders of the souls entrusted to them, pastors and religious leaders can use this opportunity to obtain the skills and tools necessary to empower them toward continuing to lead, with a heightened vigor and anointing.
